What is the noise level of fully automatic road cutting equipment?

In the busy scene of urban road construction and maintenance, fully automatic road cutting equipment helps the project advance with efficient operation, but the noise it generates has become a focus that cannot be ignored. The noise level of fully automatic road cutting equipment is affected by many factors. From the perspective of the equipment's own structure, the high-speed rotation of the cutting blade to cut the road surface is the primary source of noise. Blades of different materials, sizes, and numbers of teeth have different noise performances. For example, when a coarse-toothed blade cuts hard concrete, the impact force is large, the vibration is strong, and the noise is often 90-100 decibels; in comparison, a fine-toothed blade handles asphalt pavement, which is relatively "gentle", about 80-90 decibels. As the power core, the motor has superimposed electromagnetic and mechanical friction sounds during operation. Especially for old equipment, the motor bearings are worn and the heat dissipation is poor, which will increase the noise by an additional 5-10 decibels. The working conditions also have a significant impact on the noise. In open outdoor areas, sound diffuses quickly and has little reflection, so noise propagation is relatively "free". However, in streets with tall buildings or narrow construction alleys, sound waves are reflected and superimposed by buildings, forming reverberation, which makes the surroundings feel more intense noise. The same equipment in a narrow space can be 3-5 decibels "noisier" than in an open space. Moreover, the cutting depth and speed adjustment are related to the fluctuation of noise. Deep cutting and high speed mean that the blade and the road surface rub violently, and the noise rises accordingly. In order to control noise, technological innovation has never stopped. In the blade design of modern equipment, the tooth shape is optimized and the noise reduction coating is used to weaken the cutting vibration and friction sound; the motor part uses precision manufacturing and sound insulation packaging to suppress the transmission of internal noise. At the same time, it is equipped with a professional soundproof cover, which is similar to "putting on earmuffs" for the equipment. The multi-material combination structure can absorb and reflect sound waves and reduce noise by 10-15 decibels. At the construction management level, we rationally plan the working hours to avoid the peak hours when residents rest; we build temporary sound barriers to weaken the intensity of noise diffusion. Through these measures, we strive to limit the noise of fully automatic road cutting equipment to within the range of environmental protection and residents' tolerance, and balance the progress of the project with the tranquility of urban life.
